Your generosity powers our mission, so we’re making sure we use your gifts wisely. Here’s a wish-list of items for our shelters, updated monthly so you can see what we need most and where you can make the biggest impact.
Happy Spring, and welcome to April! As we greet the new season, we want our shelters to be beautiful for our guests. People experiencing homelessness may be facing the darkest time of their life, but being surrounded by healthy gardens can bring a sense of renewal and hope. Along less glamorous lines, we’ve added “toilet bowl cleaner” to our list of always-needed items. So elegant! This month, we also need unused sweatpants for men, and we heard from our Siena House men that they really need belts. It seems like a very specific item, but their clothing is generally second-hand, and they have a hard time finding pants that fit, especially work or dress pants. And finally, for reasons unknown, microwavable ramen noodles have become the most popular item in our shelters right now. Here’s the full list of what we need:

Dishwasher pods, laundry pods, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, mop solution, toilet bowl cleaner

Flower pots, flowers, and gardening supplies
Unused shower curtain liners
Men's belts
Unused men's sweatpants
Microwavable ramen noodles
Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee
Brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners
Unused microwaves
Major impact items we need
Unused large freezers (we currently need 4)
Unused refrigerator with freezer (we currently need 2)
Unused dishwasher (we need 2)
Unused garbage disposer (1)
We don’t need any of these items right now
Clothing, other than those listed above
Blankets
Diapers
Kleenex
Toiletries
Furniture
Items we unfortunately cannot ever accept
Used mattresses

Car seats
Food that is expired or within 2 weeks of expiring
