Danielle (Dani) Funk is our newest hire, and she also happens to be a superhero. Carrying the hefty title of “Shelter Case Manager Coordinator,” she oversees our case management program and ensures that our guests have a coordinated and seamless plan of care. Joining our team last November, in just a short period of time she is elevating our case management program to a leader in its field.

With more than two decades of experience administering case management and social service programs, Dani is a licensed, certified Advanced Practice Social Worker with both a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Her education and experience have already allowed her to shine in this role: when we partnered with a local hotel to create a winter overflow shelter this year, she took the lead in coordinating case management for the guests, and made sure they were given personalized care to connect them with the tools they needed to reach stability. Under her watch, our guests are receiving every possible resource to achieve the best outcomes possible.

In her spare time, Dani is a long-distance runner and sometimes leaps tall buildings for a good cause – namely, the 25-story Hilton City Center in Milwaukee from which she rappelled in a Spiderman costume to raise money for the Special Olympics. She has traveled to Guatemala, Mexico and Jamaica to build orphanages, and traveled to the Ukraine to live in an orphanage among the children to complete needs/risk assessments. Wow! We are so excited to have Dani join our team!
