Representative Payee Program
In an effort to reduce or eliminate financial exploitation or mismanagement of funds received from Social Security, our Representative Payee Program offers financial management assistance to individuals with restricted ability to manage their own money.
This provides a safety net, and it’s primary objective is to ensure that at-risk, low-income individuals continue to receive their monthly benefits and use those funds to pay for shelter, food, and clothing. With their necessities paid for, our clients live a functionally independent and comfortable as possible within the means of their limited income.
In 2008, Hebron House started a Representative Payee Program to address the needs of clients receiving Social Security benefits that were being held by the Social Security Administration. This program is a collaboration with Interfaith Senior Programs that provide retired volunteers, trained through the Social Security Administration, to work one-on-one with each client. Hebron House retains fiscal responsibility of all client accounts.
